MSU-Northern running back Ethan Blythe dies

A Montana State University-Northern running back died Monday according to the Fergus County Sherriff's Department. Northern freshman and former Lewistown standout athlete Ethan Blythe died early Monday morning in Havre.

A 2014 Lewistown graduate, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Blythe was a two-year all-conference linebacker and running back for the Eagles, and was also one of the premier Class A wrestlers in the state.

Blythe captured a 182-pound state title his senior year. As a sophomore, he finished second at 171 pounds and took fifth as a junior.

A memorial fund has been setup to help offset the Blythe family's funeral costs, an estimated $15,000.

A celebration of Blythe's life will take place Monday, May 23 at 4 p.m. at the Fergus High School Fieldhouse.
