The Havre High boys tennis team captured its eighth straight Central A championship Thursday in Lewistown. Havre scored 49 points to run away from second-place Lewistown. The HHS girls finished second behind repeat champion Livingston.

Havre senior Jeff Miller won his fourth straight boys singles championship, while setting a conference record for points in a career. Jerod Boles and Jake Sedahl won the doubles crown as well, while Dustin Haas placed fourth in singles.

On the girls side, Rainey Stoner and Madison Huebsch placed second for the Ponies, while Paige Nelson tied for third in singles. Reggie Bernard and Alara Vogel also placed fifth for the Pony girls, who finished second to Livingston for the fifth time in the last sixth seasons.

The seven Ponies who reached the state tourney will now play in Bozeman and Livingston on Thursday and Friday.
