Bike blessing and family fun set at Pepin Park

There will be Harleys, hamburgers and holiness at Pepin Park, as the Set Free Ministries of Havre will be holding a Servants of Christ Motorcycle Bike Blessing Saturday.

Those looking to take out their motorcycles for the riding season are invited to have them blessed.

"We pray a blessing over the bike, over the rider for protection for the riding season,” said Pastor A. J Benson of Set Free Ministries.

Benson said it is the third time year they have had the event, but the first time they will be having it at Pepin Park. The other two years, the blessing was carried out at the church.

Such ceremonies are not unique to Havre. Benson said Christian motorcycle groups or motorcycle ministries hold similar events in communities throughout the country.

He said he recently took part in a similar celebration in Helena with Christian Motorcycle Association.

Aside from the blessing and some words from himself and Pastor Curt Curtis of the Assembly of God Church, there will be family-friendly activities at the gathering, including a musical performance by a Set Free worship team from Set Free Christian Fellowship in Great Falls.

A puppet show by Gina and Marshal Fielder of Great Falls along with an illusionist will provide further entertainment.

Food will be provided.

The event starts at noon and are free of charge.
