North Star's Sheridan O'Neil signs with MSU-Northern
Montana State University-Northern head volleyball coach Bill Huebsch has put together a strong 2016 recruiting class.
Now, the class has a Hi-Line standout to go with it. On Wednesday, Huebsch announced that North Star's Sheridan O'Neil has signed to play for the Skylights next fall.
O'Neil, a 5-foot-9 middle blocker and outside hitter, who was a First Team All-Conference selection this season, finished her career as the all-time leader in kills, and she holds the single-season records for blocks and kills at North Star.
O'Neil earned All-Conference honors in basketball twice (Second Team in 2014-2015 and First Team in 2015-2016) and was a four-year letter winner and Academic All-State honoree in both basketball and volleyball.
"I chose MSU-Northern because I love the small campus feel and the family atmosphere," O'Neil said. "The MSU-Northern players were all very open and accepting of me when I was able to attend practices. I am excited to start the next journey in my academic and athletic careers at MSU-Northern.
"Sheridan is a coachable and athletic young lady who knows how to work hard in the classroom and on the court," Huebsch added. "We are happy she chose to stay closer to home and look forward to her joining our Northern Volleyball family this fall."
O'Neil is active in 4-H, has been the Rodeo Queen, participated in Steer Showmanship, and a number of community service projects. She plans on majoring in biology and agriculture at MSU-Northern.
