From American Indian Business Leaders
The American Indian Business Leaders National Organization consists of 1,800 members from all over the United States.
Each year, high school, college and university students compete within their own academic level in categories such as business plan writing and presentation, chapter of the year and more. In Phoenix, during the week of April 6-10, the Stone Child College AIBL chapter successfully competed in the business plan category, under the Tribal College division.
The chapter has a large, active membership of 20 Stone Child College students, and seven students were selected to participate in writing and presenting a business plan at the national competition. The seven students selected were: Chapter President Michele Cantrell Standing Rock, Vice President Martin Zarco, Secretary Alvina Sayers, public relations officers Ventura Campbell and Blaine Yellow Tail, fundraising specialist Yesenia Zarco-Torres and Treasurer Van Four Souls.
The Stone Child College American Indian Business Leaders’ business plan received first place.
The business plan was written for their coffee and snack shop, which is successfully managed by the chapter and aptly named The AIBL Chew & Brew.
The AIBL Chew & Brew is open during fall and spring semesters and serves students, faculty, staff, visitors and the Rocky Boy community.
Adviser Rebeeca Farr said she and her students wish to thank the Chippewa Cree Tribe, RJS & Associates, the SORNA Program, Plain Green and Stone Child College for their “wonderful support of the Stone Child College business program.”
