Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Luke Karnauskas, Havre Track

The high school track and field season has kicked into high gear, and so has Havre High senior Luke Karnauskas. At last Saturday's A.R.M. Invitational in Whitefish, Karnauskas took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.96. But, he wasn't done scoring points for the Ponies, as he also placed sixth in the high jump in a meet that is considered one of the toughest in western Montana each spring. Karnauskas also ran for the HHS cross country team this past fall and had a successful season there.

Scout Boucher, Havre Softball

Saturday was a big day for the Havre High softball team. And in the Blue Ponies' two wins over Central A rival Livingston, HHS' Scout Boucher had a big day at the plate. Boucher went a combined 5-for-7 at the dish, including blasting a home run in the first game of the double dip. Boucher, one of Havre's leading hitters, also drove in three runs on the day, while making some key plays in the field as Havre beat the Rangers 8-7 and 13-6 to improve to 4-3 in Central A conference play.
