From Havre High School

Havre High School has announced that Kyley Verploegen was chosen as one of Havre High's April 2016 Students of the Month. Kyley's parents are Chad and Tera Verploegen. She has one brother, Quintin, 18, and three sisters, Jera, 14, Elyssa, 10, and Daceen, 7.

Kyley is 16 years old and a sophomore at Havre High School. She is active in the Bear Paw Rifle Club and plays basketball at HHS. Kyley is also active with baby sitting and drives a grain cart during harvest. She said she enjoys reading and spending time with friends.

Mandy Nitz nominated Kyley for Kyley's great sense of humor, kindness and work ethic. Kyley is quiet in the classroom but leads by example, Nitz said, adding that she appreciates Kyle's thoughtfulness and said, "Thanks for being such a great student, thinker, writer, reader."

Kyley said she isn't sure what she plans on doing in the future but hopes to do something with biology or agriculture.

Megan Lindbloom also was chosen as one of Havre High's April 2016 Students of the Month.

Megan is 16 and a sophomore at HHS. She is the daughter of Lance and Michelle Lindbloom. Her siblings are Wyatt, 19, and Makayla, 13.

Megan is a manager for football and wrestling, plays tennis and is an active participant in Pep Club. She also works at McDonald's and said she enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling and reading.

Megan was nominated by Heather Haney. Haney nominated Megan based on the work Megan does as a student and as her student aid. Haney said, "Megan is an outstanding young woman. She always completes her work to the best of her ability, assists her peers, and continually has a positive attitude." Megan is organized, efficient, and positively contributes to all of her classes, Haney added.

In the future, Megan said, she hopes to become a teacher or work in social care.
