Six North Star students en route to State Music Festival

Six students from North Star High School in Rudyard earned their way at the District 7 Music Festival in Shelby April 16 to perform at the State Music Festival, set May 6-7 in Helena.

Students who were awarded superior ratings by the adjudicators at the district festival qualify to perform at the state festival.

North Star students earning superiors were Cade Chvilicek in piano; Chvilicek and Nathanial Pederson in trumpet duet; Katelyn Hansen, Samantha Pester and Sheridan Spicher in a soprano trio performance, and Hali Kapperud in a mezzo soprano performance.

“I am proud of the hard work these students put in, often coming to rehearse before school, during class and after a long day of school with athletic or drama practice,“ said Scott Kendall, North Star Schools’ music teacher. “I’ve never worked with more dedicated kids than the ones we have at North Star.”
