Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Alara Vogel/Reggie Bernard, Havre High Tennis

The third time was the charm for Havre High senior doubles partners Reggie Bernard and Alara Vogel. In their final home meet of their careers, the duo bested a top team from Conrad at Saturday's Havre Invitational to win the girls doubles championship. Vogel and Bernard beat the Conrad duo in three grueling sets capping a perfect 3-0 day for the Pony tandem. Bernard, in her second year of HHS tennis, is also a volleyball standout, while Vogel, a four-year tennis player, also helped the Havre girls win a swimming state championship this past winter.

Eddie Harmon, Turner Track

With only two sports offered at Turner High School, track and field is important to many Tornadoes. And one Turner standout certainly made the most out of a very busy week. Turner's Eddie Harmon captured the boys 800-meter run at Wednesday's Cal Wearley Meet in Havre, running a 2:15.3, and he returned to the Havre Middle School Track to win the 800 in Saturday's Havre Lions Invitational. In that race, Harmon, who also plays basketball for the Tornadoes, crossed the line in 2:09.70.
