Two Blue Ponies named Class A All-State

The 2015-16 Class A All-State girls basketball team was released this week and for the third straight year, the Havre Blue Ponies have two girls who made the cut.

Dani Wagner, who finished the season ranked second in Class A in scoring with 18 points per game, was selected to the All-State team for the second time and was also named First Team All-Conference in the Central A.

Joining Wagner on the All-State team is Havre junior Naomi Terry. Terry ranked eighth in all of Class A in points per game at just under 13 a game. She also earned First Team All-Conference honors in the Central A.

Joining Wagner and Terry on the All-Conference First Team are Tiara Gilham and Taylor CalfBossribs of Browning, as well as Sierra Higgs of Livingston. Gilham and CalfCrossribs both were selected for the All-State team as well.

The players who earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the Central A were Jaree Mane, Tara Olson and Kyra Fleharty of Lewistown, as well as Megan Gibson of Livingston and Skyla Neubaurer of Belgrade.

The rest of the All-State team includes Abbie Lohof of Laurel, Ashlie Larson of Miles City, Mariah Wittman of Billings Central, all representing the Eastern A. In the Northwest A, Kiara Burlage, Cydney Finberg and Peyton Kehr of Columbia Falls all made All-State, as did Alli Moe of Frenchtown.

In the Southwest A, the Butte Central Maroons showed their stength, by placing four players on the All-State team in Mollie Peoples, Emily St. John, Kloie Thatcher and Sierra Pica. Alex Rouse of Dillon was also named to the team.
