The Boy named State C MVP

Saturday night was a magical night for the Box Elder Bears, and their fans.

At the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, Box Elder won its second state championship in three years, cruising past Arlee in the final.

There are four Bears players named to the Class C State All-Tournament team, composed of 10 players, including the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

That honor goes to Box Elder point guard Brandon The Boy, who scored 68 combined points in three games. The senior has been the Bears' leader for quite some time now, and he saved some of his best basketball for last.

Jerrod Four Colors, Pernell Morsette and Jake Jones-Morsette also made the squad. Great all week, the senior Four Colors poured in 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the title game

The rest of the team includes Arlee's Philip Malatare and Tyler Tanner, Belt's Matt Metrione and Koltin Haugrose, Westby-Grenora's Kevin Rust and Manhattan Christian's James Ramirez.

Malatare, only a sophomore, dazzled the crowd all week at Four Seasons. In three games, he totaled 76 points, including game-high 33 in the title game.

The team was selected by the Great Falls Tribune.
