Crystle E. W. Flint Widdis, 99, died on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Liberty Medical Center in Chester.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Rudyard. A reception will follow. Crystle was buried privately in the Rudyard Cemetery by Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester. Memorials may be offered to Crystle's favorite charity: CEF - Child Evangelism Fellowship.
She was born Feb. 25, 1916, at Burwell, Nebraska, to Edgar and Nina Sherman. Crystle graduated from Burwell High School in 1934, then attended teachers college. She married Gary Flint in 1938,and they would eventually move to Montana where they farmed near Rudyard. Her husband died in 1972. Crystle married Mark Widdis in 1979, and they continued to farm until 1995. Her husband, Mark, passed in 2010. Crystle moved to the Chester Nursing Home in 2014, where she died two days shy of her 100th birthday.
She enjoyed reading, crosswords, board games, cards and gardening. Crystle was well known throughout the Hi-Line for her 30-year dedication to children's ministries and leading "Good News" Bible clubs. She served as a spiritual counselor and friend to many and remained loyal for her faith.
Crystle was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and eight siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Nyla and Mark Moore of Ridgecrest, California; four grandchildren, Caleb, Colby, Jennifer and Jocelyn; and 12 great-grandchildren.
