Rene Brown is the sixth-grade Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Tracie and Robert Brown. She has two sisters, Peyton and Lunden. Rene loves playing basketball, volleyball and track and looks forward to representing the HMS Mustangs next year. She loves spending time with friends and family, drawing and jumping on the trampoline. Rene's teachers note that she continuously shows a strong desire to be in school, actively participating in discussion and activities.
She is a leader and can be counted on to help with a variety of things in and around the classroom. Rene plans to keep her grades up throughout her Blue Pony career and pursue a degree in the medical field as a doctor or a nurse.
Seventhh grade Student of the Month is Elijah Patterson. Elijah is the son of Wanda Galloway and Jeremiah Patterson. He has two brothers, Jacob and Dusty and two sisters, Aysha and Haley. Elijah enjoys art, camping, riding his bike and spending time with friends and family. Elijah's teachers appreciate how nice and mannered he is to have in class.
He is an awesome artist and works to perfection. He is so kind to everyone and has such a fun sense of humor in him too. His smile is a nice addition to any day. Elijah's plans for the future include working in community service and helping his family.
Student of the Month for eighth grade is Zephanhia Linton. Zephy is the daughter of Scott and Rayminda Linton. She has one sister, Sheradia. Zephy represents the HMS Mustangs well in band, jazz band, volleyball, Junior Helpers and National Junior Honor Society. She also enjoys playing softball, reading, going to youth group, hanging out with friends and spending time with family. It has been said that "Zephy is one of those students I could nominate every month for Student of the Month." She is always working hard and handing in superior assignments. She is pleasant to everybody in class and very helpful. She gives 100 percent effort even when she is not here. During the last quarter she was absent while on a trip and had no trouble catching back up quickly. Although Zephy is not quite sure of her future yet, she says "wherever God wants me, I'll go."
