The Havre Ice Dome was home to the Montana Squirt State B Hockey Tournament this past weekend, where teams from across the Treasure State battled it out over three days and nights.
In the end, a pair of Hi-Line teams went at it in the championship game, as the Havre Ice Hawks 2 took on Glasgow Sunday for the right to be crowned state champions. And, while Glasgow edged Havre 5-4 in an exciting game, it was still a spectacular weekend for the Ice Hawks, who won a crossover game against Flathead, 6-3 to advance to the championship game.
In all, two Havre teams competed in the state tournament on their home ice. Havre 1 was composed of Ciaran Courtnage, Jacob Herring, Heather Herring, Clara Holland, Jersi Morse, Madison Motichka, Tanya Ralph, Trayden Riley, London Toldness, Makaylen Top Sky and Rhett Wertheimer. Havre 2 was made up of Levi Benjamin, Austin Boyce, Paisley Branden, Michael Emge, David Emge, Dever Everingham, Decker Hanson, Frances Hanson, Grant Karns, Mackenzie Kuhn and Bryce Shettel.
