Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Brandon The Boy, Box Elder Basketball

Winning 9C championships is nothing new to Box Elder senior Brandon The Boy. But, in his last 9C tournament, he was simply spectacular. The Boy averaged 24 points and five assists over three games at the 9C tournament this past weekend. Included in that was a 31-point gem in the Friday night's championship game win over Chester/J-I. The Boy, a two-time Class A All-State selection already, and the quarterback of Box Elder's football team, started all 15 games for the Bears during their 9C 4-Peat the last four seasons.

Tia Russell, Box Elder Basketball

The Box Elder girls have one of the deepest teams in Class C basketball. And with so much talent, the Bears are always very balanced in scoring. But, when the District 9C championship was on the line this past weekend in Havre, junior Tia Russell stepped to the forefront. Russell scored 21 points in Box Elder's win over Chinook in the 9C championship game, and for the tournament, Russell averaged 12 points per night. A returning All-Conference standout from a season ago, Russell helped the Bears to a perfect 21-0 record so far this season.
