The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team is nearing the end of their regular season. And this past weekend, the Ice Hawks lost a pair of games in Whitefish.
Taking on the Flathead Fusion Saturday, Havre fell 5-1. The Fusion scored early in the first period at 15:56 and again late in the firstwith 34 seconds left. Havre held off the Fusion the entire second period then three more goals snuck by in the third period, the final one being at 35 seconds left in the game.
The Hawks came up with one goal at 3:56 in the third as Barrett Kilgore found the net on an assist from August Eacker and Jeffrey Ralph.
The Ice Hawks got 49 saves on 54 shots by goalie Nick Stump.
Havre took on the Fusion again Sunday, and were shut out 9-0.
Stump had 71 shots on him with 62 saves as he had an amazing game. Stump only let one escape in the first period. Then 4 in the second and 4 in the third. Offensively, the Ice Hawks struggled to keep up with the Fusion with their 11 skaters to the Fusion's 17. The Ice Hawks had only came up with two shots on goal, however their defense came up with quite a few shots from the blue line.
Havre will wrap up the regular season with two games in Miles City this weekend.
