Logan Gardner was selected as one of Havre High's January 2016 Students of the Month.
Logan's parents are Lesley and Craig Gardner. His siblings are Kaleb, 14, McKenzie, 12, and Kysiah, 9.
Logan is actively involved at Havre High School with his participation in band and the swim team. He is also involved with the Boy Scouts of America and works as a kitchen aide at Northern Montana Hospital. Outside of school, Logan said he enjoys spending time with friends, reading books and playing games.
Logan was nominated by Colleen Patera because of his great attitude and work ethic. Patera said she has been impressed with Logan's willingness to try his hardest in everything he does. Logan demonstrates compassion for others and patience with situations beyond his control.
"He always has a smile on his face, he is a very courteous and polite young man," Patera said.
Logan plans on serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after he graduates from high school and will then pursue a career in literature. His backup plan is to become a veterinarian.
Cortland Brenna is Havre High's other January 2016 Student of the Month.
Cortland is the daughter of Ron and Mayke Brenna and Shari Robinson. Her siblings include Kendra, 30, Tasha, 27, Nate, 20, Grayson, 19, Keegan, 18, and Emmerson, 16.
As a junior at Havre High School, Cortland participates as the secretary and treasurer for the Junior Class and is a member of Student Congress. Cortland works at McDonald's and said she enjoys spending time with her friends in her spare time.
Cortland was nominated by Heather Haney because of Cortland's positive attitude and for being an "all-around great student." Cortland is appreciated by many of her teachers for contribution to the classroom. Haney said she has specifically appreciated Cortland's hard-work and attitude.
Cortland's future plans include going to school to become a pediatrician.
