Shoppers at Holiday Village Mall Saturday will have the chance to get their health checked, when Northern Montana Health care hosts its 2016 Northern Montana Health Care Community Health Fair.
Julianne LaSmith, marketing and public relations coordinator for NMHC, said the once-every-three-years event, allows them to educate the public about the different services Northern Montana Hospital provides.
Stations will be set up throughout the mall, where fairgoers can get their blood pressure, bone density, heart rate and blood sugar checked.
At others, people will have the chance to undergo balance and body fat testing.
LaSmith said the balance machine, used in the hospital’s physical therapy department will be there. She said the machine is used to help older people and those with serious injuries.
Vendors will be present, distributing health information, promoting their services, hosting activities and giving away prizes.
There will be a food drive for the Havre Food Bank, held in conjunction with Gary & Leo’s Fresh Foods.
Donors will receive one entry per dollar or food item into a drawing for an official U.S. Olympic Ski Team jacket donated by Michelle Donaldson, an orthopedic surgeon at the hospital and an orthopedic surgery member of the U.S. Olympic Ski Team Medical Pool.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
