Coming off a huge scoring weekend, Montana State University-Northern junior guard Natalee Faupel has been named the Frontier Conference Women's Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Faupel, a Butte native, averaged 24 points, six rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Faupel was 13-of-24 (54 percent) from the field, 1-of-2 in 3-point field goals and 21-of-26 (81 percent) from the free-throw-line.
In last Friday night's win over Montana Tech in the Armory Gymnasium, Faupel poured in 30 points, while she added 18 points in a loss to nationally ranked Lewis-Clark State Saturday night. Faupel also went over 1,000 points in her MSU-N career over the weekend.
Rocky Mountain College senior Rob Nyby was named Men's Player of the Week. Nyby averaged 26 points in a pair of road losses this weekend, while he also nailed 11 3-pointers in the two games combined. Northern's Warren Edmondson was also nominated for the men's award.
