Havre's Warp honored by USA Today

The accolades from an outstanding career, and an outstanding senior season continue to pour in for Havre High's Dane Warp.

The Blue Pony quarterback was recently named the Montana Offensive Player of the Year on the 2015 ALL-USA Montana Football Team, published by USA Today.

The four-time Class A All-State quarterback broke the state career records for both passing touchdowns (101, 19 more than the previous mark) and passing yards (10,801 – 1,894 ahead of the next-best total). He also set new state career records for points, touchdowns and total offense.

For the season he threw for 2,394 yards and 23 TDs, and tied the state single-season record for completion percentage (69.4 percent), on his way to being named a First-Team All-Conference QB for the fourth consecutive season.

Warp also helped the Blue Ponies to an 8-3 overall record, a perfect mark on their way to the Central A championship, and a trip to the Class A semifinals this past fall.

Warp was one of just eight Class A players to make the All-Montana Team, an honor which he received for the second straight season. The list also includes Malta offensive lineman Antonio Lopez.

Warp, who is now averaging just over 23 points per game for the Havre High basketball team, has also been selected to play in the Montana East-West Shrine Game and is likely to be named to the Badlands Bowl as well.

USA Today also named Whitefish head coach Chad Ross the Montana Coach of the Year. Ross led the Bulldogs to the Class A state championship in November. Bozeman High's Payton O'Reilly was named Montana Defensive Player of the Year.
