Three local winners in the annual Elk’s Hoop Shoot coimpetition have made it to the state level.
The annual Elk’s District Hoop Shoot was recently held in Shelby, and three Havre free-throw stars advanced on.
Sadie Filius made 19-of-25 shots to capture first place in the girls age 12-13 category at the district event. A year ago, Filius advanced all the way to the regional event.
Havre shooters also swept the 10-11 age group. Alyssa Oliver made 16-of-25 shots to take first place in the girls division, while R.J. Ramone made 16-of-25 to win the boys division. In the 8-9 girls category, Kamree Oliver of Havre finished in fifth place.
All competitiors who advanced from Shelby will compete at the Elk’s State Hoop Shoot Feb. 6 in Livingston.
