News you can use
By Rachel Rawn
The Havre-Hill County Library staff wants to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who came to the hayride, and everyone who helped out. Thank you especially to Jack, Patti and Troy Solomon, who drove the wagons. And thank you to their horses, Bill, Rick and Randy, who worked diligently for hours. Thank you to Beth Williams, Paula Miller, Dolores Noffsinger, Juanita Hockett, Francine Brady, April Snyder and company, Bonnie Williamson, Melissa and Gallagher Cumings, Jeff LaVoi, Doug Kaercher, Linda Rawn, Carol Ortman and Brian Zabrocki, who all donated time, materials or both, to the event. Thanks to our new children’s librarian Jessica Simms and our library assistant Kristen Kindle who worked overtime and put up with Rachel running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
We had 284 people on the hayride this year, and more who came to enjoy the rest of the festivities. We apologize to the few families who we had to turn away from the hayride when the waiting lists were full up to 4 p.m., and the horses were getting tired. This is the second year we’ve done the hayride, and every year we learn something new. Thanks to everyone for sticking with us as we learn. Thanks to you the hayride will be even better next year.
