Semitractor-trailer drives off the road near Chinook

A semitractor-trailer carrying an MRI machine on U.S. Highway 2 lost control Tuesday about 1 p.m. and drove off the road and through a guardrail.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, an unidentified driver was east of Chinook, heading westbound toward Havre, when the trailer started fishtailing and the driver lost control. The semitractor-trailer veered through the opposite lane and rammed past the guard rail, halting with the trailer hanging where the guard rail once was.

The semitractor-trailer was totaled but the driver was OK. He wasn't taken to the hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
