McLean leaves lt. gov. position

Taking new position with commissioner of higher ed

Lt. Gov. Angela McLean is leaving her position to become the director of American Indian and Minority Achievement K-12 Partnerships at the state Office of Commissioner of Higher Education, Gov. Steve Bullock announced this morning.

“Angela has contributed to the success of our team during her tenure as lieutenant governor,” Bullock said in the release from his office. “Her life-long commitment to education and the relationships she has built in Indian Country will serve her well and continue to benefit Montanans across our state. Her passion to work on challenging issues and continually seek opportunities to help others has led her to taking this new role, and she will be terrific at it.”

The release said Bullock will begin the process to select the next lieutenant governor for Montana immediately and will announce his selection in the coming weeks.

McLean will congtinue to serve as lieutant governor until a repleacement is appointed
