MDT proposes project on U.S. Highway 2 west of Havre

From MDT

The Montana Department of Transportation has notified the public and is seeking comments on a proposal to mill and overlay about 2.4 miles of Highway 2 west of Havre in Hill County.

The project begins west of the intersection with U.S. Highway 87 at reference post 379.1 and extends east for 2.4 miles ending at the transition to concrete surface near the intersection with 9th Avenue Northwest at reference post 381.4.

Proposed work includes cold mill; overlay; seal and cover, or chip seal; updated Americans with Disabilities Act facilities, curb ramps; and upgraded pavement marking and signage. The purpose of the project is to prolong the life of the roadway and improve ADA accessability.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2017, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations are anticipated.
