For the third time already this season, the Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team has a Frontier Conference Player of the Week Award.
On Monday, Northern sophomore guard Jacy Thompson was named Frontier Women's Player of the Week for her incredible performance last Friday against Wayland Baptist.
Thompson poured in a career-high 39 points as the No. 5 Skylights beat the No. 10 Queens in overtime.
In addition to her 39 points, Thompson grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists. Thompson hit 13 of 19 field goals (68 percent), made 3 of 6, 3-point field goals and was 10 of 12 (83 percent) from the free-throw-line. The 39 points was one-point short of tying Jaci Heny's school record for most individual points in a single game.
The win also helped Northern improve to 6-0 on the season. The Skylights open Frontier Conference play next week with games at Rocky Mountain College Thursday in Billings and UM-Western next Saturday night in Dillon.
