Fundraiser for Havre's Helping Haven slated for Saturday

Lynette Cline and her three daughters will host a spaghetti dinner, auction and raffle at the Eagle’s Club Saturday, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Proceeds will go to Havre’s Helping Haven, an organization that provides items people donate to be sold or given away.

Cline said her daughter Kimberlee, who wanted to do something for Havre Helping Haven, came up with the idea.

“My daughter came up with this idea and we just kind of ran with it,” said Cline.

Cline knows what it is like to be in need. Ten years ago her home in Gulfport, Mississippi, and much of the life she knew were swept away by Hurricane Katrina. Six months later, Cline and her family moved to Cut Bank. In 2009, the Clines relocated to Havre, where Havre’s Helping Haven, then known as the Giveaway House, helped them acquire the basics to start a new life.

The spaghetti, garlic bread and salad served will be cooked and provided by the Clines. There will be a silent auction of homemade goods, where those in attendance can bid on desserts, some donated by members of the community and others made by the Cline’s themselves.

A washer and dryer set, donated by Havre’s Helping Haven and valued at $2,000 will be raffled off.

The dinner itself is free with free-will donations accepted. Raffle tickets for the washer dryer set are $10 each. For more information, call Kimberlee Cline at 945-0896.
