For the second week in a row, a Montana State University-Northern basketball player has been named Frontier Conference player of the Week.
This time, it's Lights' junior David Straughter. Straughter is a 6-5 junior forward from Sacramento, California.
Northern improved to 4-0 on the season with an 87-80 win over Warner Pacific College and a 105-64 victory over Portland Bible College.
He averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. From the field, Straughter hit 11 of 18 field goals (61 percent) and 14 of 15 free throws (93 percent). Against Warner-Pacific, Straughter scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rounds.
Also nominated: Sigman Farmer III of the University of Great Falls, Cammie Lewis of Lewis-Clark State, Rob Nyby of Rocky Mountain College, Zach Taylor of Carroll College and Dexter Williams Jr. of Montana Western.
Both MSU-N basketball teams are home this Saturday to host the Dickinson State Blue Hawks.
