New pastor named for Havre's First Lutheran Church

Press release

Tanner Howard has been named pastor of First Lutheran Church.

Howard grew up on a farm at Dows, Iowa, and is a graduate of Iowa State University and Wartburg Theological Seminary.

“Some of the things that excite me and fall into my gifts and skills are youth and young adult ministry — including camping ministry — music and workship, ecunemical and inter-faith relations and dialogue, community involvement  ...  theology, teaching and preaching,” he said in an introductory letter.

He called himself an avid reader and a “hopeless coffee addict.”

“I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping and kayaking,” he said.

He is also into photography and loves to travel.

“I love music and my playlist often bounces from  Irish rebel music to Taylor Swift, a Disney soundtrack and the Charlie Daniels Band.”

He will begin his Havre ministry in November, around Thanksgiving.
