Local Bowling Report: Hi Line Lanes Challenge on tap in November

The Hi Line Lanes Challenge Tournament will be Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. There is a $500 guaranteed first place payout.Also, new this year is $50 to the high scratch game and to the high scratch series, (games 1-2-3 or 4-5-6 only). The tournament is limited to 36 bowlers. Call the lanes at 265-5885 for your spot.

On Sunday, the U.S.B.C. Youth league got underway with bowlers across the house. Especially, the Pee Wee’s numbers were way up. This is a bumper league that runs for six weeks by Marcia Lynnes. She would welcome more bowlers. Older youth who didn’t make it to the first week may still sign up this Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last week’s article contained the names of the volunteers who worked the State Senior Tournament. Donna Tilleman’s name was in the volunteers, but I didn’t realize she was here for every shift. Sorry Donna, I apologize. That’s what happens when you become a senior, you forget things.

Once again bowlers are asked to put first and last names on the recap sheets and to finish filling them out. The scores are on the pedestal screens.

TIP OF THE WEEK: To find your “line” throw your first practice ball where you normally stand and shoot. If it don’t come up to the pocket ( providing you have followed through and finished at the foul line correctly) move 2 boards to the right. If it crosses over to the other side, move two boards to the left and use your same spot.
