Bruce Darwin Broadus peacefully passed away at his home in Bellevue, Washington, on Sept. 21.
He is survived his his wife of 58 years, Debbie (Lesmeister); children, Kelly Brower and David (Trudy).
His youngest son, Matthew, preceded him in death in 2003.
Bruce was born in Miles City, Montana, in 1933 to Haston "Speedy" and Mary (McElroy) Broadus.
He grew up in Havre and upon graduating from Havre High School in 1951, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Missouri.
On his return home, he enrolled at Northern Montana College, where he met and married Debbie. They moved to Denver, Colorado, where he earned a business degree from Denver University. He then joined General Motors Acceptance Corporation.
In 1973, Bruce and two partners opened Michael’s Toyota in Bellevue, Washington.
He loved to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren, Skylar Broadus, 16, and Bodan and Ryder Broadus, 10.
Bruce is also survived by his sisters, Dixie Evans of Havre, Karen (David) Taft of Great Falls, and brother Jimmy (Angelica) Broadus of Sequim, Washington.
He also had many nieces and nephews.
