Local Bowling Report: Montana State Seniors a hit at Hi Line Lanes

Ten Pin Chatter

After three weekends of continuous bowling the Montana State Senior Tournament is over and in the books. Final results are below.

A big thank you goes out to the Havre U.S.B.C. for the job in running the tournament and especially to Shawn Mariani for all of his hard work starting in August in organizing all the shifts and times and keeping track of all of the entries. Super job, Shawn. Also, to all of the volunteers who worked the days of the tournament. Julie Rodgers and Dianne Watson who put the tournament book together, Minnow and Norma Mariani who were at the tournament from start to finish, and Donna Tilleman, Dean Person and Barry Zanto deserve recognition. I apologize if I left anyone out.

There was a total of 254 entries which surpassed the previous high of 212. Next year’s tournament will be in Billings at Town and Country Lanes.

At long last I got to meet Lee Vernoy from Great Falls Tribune, who writes the bowling column for them. Lee also bowled in the tournament. I don’t think he was at the top, but he had a good time. It was a pleasure to meet him.

I goofed. I put in the paper kids sign up for Oct. 25 and starts Nov. 2. This was wrong. Sign up was Oct. 18, and they start bowling this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. If any kids are interested they may still sign up.
