Clack gets ready to move to its new location
The H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Museum Foundation Board Saturday looked back and forward as it discussed the state of the museum.
Elaine Morse, longtime chair of the foundation board, talked at the annual dinner and meeting about plans to gradually move the museum displays to the new Havre History Center, the old Anderson Wholesale building where Griggs Printing is located, in downtown Havre.
The new location will have more room and have more space for supplies, Morse said.
Some of the artifacts that have been in storage for years have been moved to the center, she said. Museum board members are planning to vastly increase the space for displays at the history center.
Three Point Architects, headed by Becki Miller, has been hired to come up with a plan on how the building will be laid out and how displays will be exhibited.
NorthWestern Energy did an audit on the building and discovered that there was a need for insulation in the ceiling. Volunteers from the museum helped install the insulation, Morse said.
The foundation board is applying for grants to help renovate the interior of the history center building, she said.
Fortunately, she said, the present museum in Holiday Village Mall is in good shape, allowing the foundation to concentrate on the new building.
Four members of the foundation board were re-elected at the meeting Saturday night.
