Betty was born Sept. 15, 1928, to Thorwald (Tom) and Bergeliot Ness in Havre, Montana.
Betty lived her entire life in the Chinook community. She attended rural schools and graduated from Chinook High School in 1946. Betty loved working with the public and proudly spent 50 years working on Main Street.
She met her husband, Gerald Munson, while working at the Cozy Corner. They spent many years north of Chinook on the ranch where they raised their three children.
Betty brought fun and light-heartedness to her community. She was actively involved in the American Lutheran Church, 4-H, Pleasant View Club, Eagles, Chinook Golf Course, Senior Citizens, the Red Hat Society and the Good Sam's Blue Horizon Club. She was warm and welcoming to everyone.
Betty loved her family above all else. Jerry and Betty were a great support and role model to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Needless to say, they attended countless concerts, rodeos, and sporting events.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald, brother, Tom, sisters Evelyn and Beverly and grandson William Gerald.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Carol) Munson, daughters Marilyn Granell (Richard) and Peggy Munson Perry, grandsons Josh (Jen), J.Jay (Sandy), granddaughters Krista (Jason), Laura (Sean), Cassie, Alicia (Trevor) and seven great grandchildren and one on the way.
Memorials can be made to the American Lutheran Church, Sweet Memorial Home, or charity of your choice.
