Rep. Christy Clark named to Agriculture post

From Montana Department of Agriculture

The Montana Department of Agriculture announced that it named Christy Clark of Choteau Montana Agricultural Development and Marketing Bureau chief.

Clark, a fifth-generation rancher born and raised in the Choteau area, brings a lifetime of agricultural knowledge to the position.

Together with her husband, Clark still owns and operates a ranch outside Choteau and a small business, The Meat Shoppe, in Bozeman.

Clark has served three terms in the Montana House as a Republican. She will not seek re-election.

"Christy not only brings her ranching background to the position, but experience owning and operating a small food and meat processing business. Both perfect fits for the position," said Ron de Yong, Montana Department of Agriculture director.

Clark will replace Kim Falcon, who is now the Agricultural Development Division administrator and deputy director.

"I am passionate about agriculture and have spent most of my life advocating for it in one way or another," said Clark. "Working as the development and marketing bureau chief is an opportunity to serve agriculture in another capacity. I am looking forward to working for producers and consumers to promote Montana's number one industry

Clark and her husband Lew have been married for 26 years and have three children. She will begin her new position immediately.
