MSU-N's Russell earns Frontier honor

For the second straight week, Montana State University-Northern's Emily Russell has been honored by the Frontier Conference.

Russell, a junior setter from Kalispell, was named Frontier Conference Setter of the Week.

The Skylights were 3-1 for the weekend. Northern beat Waldorf (Iowa) 3-0, Mount Marty 3-0 and Valley City State 3-1, and lost to (RV) Jamestown (N.D.) 1-3. Russell averaged 10.43 assists and 2.64 digs.

Russell transferred to Northern last spring from Spokane Falls Community College.

Also nominated, listed in alphabetical order: Bree Davis of the University of Great Falls, Jonni Dorr of Carroll College, Callie Hanson of Montana Western and Amber Hillestad of Lewis-Clark State College.

The Skylights make their Frontier Conference and home debut Thursday night against Lewis-Clark State.
