The Havre High golf teams are hitting the stretch run of the 2015 season. And last Friday, the Blue Ponies played the same course they'll play at the Central A Divisional tournament in two weeks.
Havre was at the Lewistown Invitationa Friday, where the HHS boys finished second with a team total of 349, while the Ponies girls shot a 445 to place third.
Individually, the Pony girls got a stellar round from senior Randi Gabrielsen, who shot 91 to place third overall. Fellow senior Payton Howard also cracked the Top 10 with a round of 107, good for ninth place.
Freshman Teagan Fee shot 120, Grace Litzinger finished with a 127 and Reagan Lammers shot 131 to round out the scoring for HHS. Freshman Kinzee Peterson shot a solid 110 for the HHS junior varsity team. MacKinzie Tilleman added a 119 and Marcee Murphy shot 131.
Meanwhile, the Pony boys didn't have their best day of the season, but they still had three golfers in the Top 10, led by senior Jerod Boles. Boles shot an 84 to place fifth overall. Senior Jeff Miller shot 87 to finish in seventh place, while Dustin Haas placed ninth with an 88. Kane Gabrielsen and Aden Passon each shot 90 to complete the scoring for the Pony varsity squad.
Havre also had some strong JV scores on the boys side. Juniors Trey Hanson and Kyle Kirkpatrick shot 90 and 96, respectively. Ryan Bakke added a 107, while Hondo Owens shot 110, Gavin Mosbrucker shot 114, Nick Keller shot 115 and Tucker Carlson added a 119.
The Havre varsity teams will be back in action with the Billings Central Invite Thursday and the Laurel Invite Friday. The HHS JV teams will also host a tournament Saturday at Beaver Creek Golf Course.
