Northern to commemorate 9/11

Montana State University-Northern will be observing the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by hosting “Havre Remembers,” to remember that historic day and celebrate national service.

Northern Chancellor Greg Kegel will be present at the event. The ceremony will begin with a presentation of the colors and a 21-gun salute fired by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Northern professor Norton Pease, who was in New York City when two planes crashed into the World Trade Center will speak.

Trina Crawford, director of Salvation Army’s Havre Service Center, will talk about current efforts to assist firefighters and victims of wildfires in the northwest. The American Legion, Montana Veteran Affairs, the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans of Foreign Wars will have representatives and tables present at the event to assist veterans and educate the public.

The service will take place at noon behind Cowan Hall.
