Corey Lloyd, 17, of Havre, was awarded his Eagle rank Thursday, Aug. 13. Corey restored the Hidden Hallows campsite south of town in Beaver Creek Park. Several hours were spent removing overgrowth, laying cement pads, building shelters and picnic tables, constructing a new outhouse and building new fire pits for each of the three new camping areas.
The Eagle rank is the highest rank a scout can achieve. On average 4 percent of Scouts are awarded this rank. Troop 1438 would like to congratulate Corey on this huge achievement and wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
As we approach the coming year, there are many scouts in our community also working toward earning their Eagle ranks as well. We have 6-8 Scouts in the coming months from Chester to Malta working hard on their projects. If you happen to hear about their projects and would like to assist in any way contact our District Advancement Chair, Bill Lanier at 399-4609 or myself at 945-2623.
Yours in Scouting,
Jennifer Thompson
Scoutmaster Troop 1438
