Havre's Parsons stands out in summer basketball

There is no shortage of great young athletes here in Havre and one of the most impressive is Havre Middle School athlete Tanner Parsons.

Parsons is a three-sport standout that stars in football, basketball and baseball. The soon-to-be eighth grader at HMS had a busy summer, taking his talent on the hardwood across the country to places like Seattle and Las Vegas to play with some of the best young basketball players in the country.

After a try out in May, Parsons was selected to play for the Idaho select team and traveled with them to Seattle in the Northwest Premier Tournament. His team also participated in the Las Vegas Classic, one of the most well-known AAU basketball tournaments in the United States.

Impressively, Parsons and his teammates managed to take home a second-place finish at the prestigious tournament, which hosts top players from across the country.

Parsons will again play football and basketball for the Mustangs at HMS this school and will also play baseball at the Babe Ruth level in the spring. This past year, his Babe Ruth team finished in second place in the city championship.
