Press release
Hill County children will have a chance to catch up on their back-to-school immunizations while attending a carnival Friday, Aug. 14, at the Hill County Health Department offices at 302 4th Ave. in downtown Havre.
Streets will be blocked off so children can take part in face paintings, an obstacle course, bean bag toss, jewelry making, snow cones and much more.
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana Care Van will be there.
The clinic will last all day. The carnival will run 9 a.m. to noon.
The health department and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana Care Van program are partnering in an effort to improve immunization rates across the county.
New Montana immunization laws now require students in kindergarten through 12th grade to have received two doses of varicella — chickenpox — vaccine and students in seventh grade receive a booster of Tdap — tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, or whooping cough — vaccine.
Children must get the shots by Oct. 1.
