Bullhook Blossoms Garden Club
The discerning eye will agree that the yard of Sharlyn Bakken at 1022 Boulevard Ave., Havre, was the perfect choice for Bullhook Bottoms Garden Club as Yard of the Week.
A well-manicured lawn is the foreground for a display of myriad color. Large pots overflow with burgundy, purple and pale pink Supertunias.
White pots with bright red geraniums agree with a large welcome flag hanging from the eaves.
An old creamer is filled with a variety of annuals in pots from a family farm. The front flower bed shows bright marigolds in front of day lilies and other annuals.
Out by the curb, tall dahlias encircle the mailbox while swaying in the breeze. Whimsical basket flags complement the colorful arrangement in this beautiful yard which appears untouched by the July 4 hailstorm.
Sharlyn says that gardening is her summertime hobby and she finds it relaxing after a day at work. It is obvious that a lot of work and love go into this activity.
She speaks fondly as well of her backyard, which can be viewed from the alley.
A drive by 1022 Boulevard Ave. is a worthwhile outing.
