Obituary - Ann "Annie" Carol Heimdahl

Our beloved angel, Ann "Annie" Carol Heimdahl, 74, passed away July 17, 2015, of aneurysm,  COPD and many other complications at her home in Alexandria, Minnesota.

It would have been the 79th anniversary of her parents, Alice and Finn Heimdahl.

Annie was born in Minneapolis and lived in Havre from 1943 to 1952 until dad, a claim agent for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern railroads, was promoted back to Minneapolis.

Annie was extremely talented, artistic, creative and fun. She lived like life to the fullest in spite of her failing health. She made beautiful jewelry, she decorated clothing, her apartment was to die for. She was an amazing cook, gardener, she grew flowers. You name it, she could create it.

Annie loved her family and her many friends and was always helping out people who needed it. She fought for the underdog; her bright spirit on earth will be painfully missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Finn Heimdahl of Havre; brother David Heimdahl of Alexandria, Minnesota; beloved husband, Darrell Henry of Park Rapids, Minnesota, and nephew Matthew Anderson of Monticello, Minnesota.

Ann is survived her children, Traci (Mike) Harding of Alexandria, Minnesota, Darcy Dusing of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Dustin Dawn Dusing of Glenwood, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Crissy Dusing of Glenwood, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Jane Heimdahl of Des Moines, Iowa, and her grandchildren, Mariah Richardson of Valley City, North Dakota, and  Christian and Rebecca Dusing of Glenwood, Minnesota, Annie Star and Will Harding of Alexandria, Minnesota; great-grandson Eli Richardson of Valley City, North Dakota; brother Pete (Carrie) Heimdahl; sisters Dr. Merry McIntyre and Lori and Robert Gibson of  Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Shelly (Gary) Grant of Havre; nine nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, and, very importantly, her two beloved cats, Pop Eye and Posie.

We will all miss her terribly, but we are happy she is not suffering anymore. We can be sure that she is in heaven dancing in the field of daisies with the "love of her life," husband Darrell Henry, who passed away of a massive heart attack after being married for only 16 months

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

We love you much, Annie.
