Rosemary L. "Roses" Crebs, O-gi-mah-ki-hew-skwe, "Chief Eagle Woman," 32, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Northern Montana Hospital. Wake services will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Little Sun Field in Rocky Boy, and will continue until her traditional funeral, which will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015, also in Little Sun Field. Burial will follow in Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Roses was born on Nov. 29, 1982, in Logan, Utah, to Douglas and Jolene (Murie) Crebs. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending Rocky Boy schools, and graduated from Rocky Boy High School in 2001. The following fall, she began attending Stone Child College and graduated two years later with her Associate's Degree in General Science. Roses immediately entered Montana State University-Northern and graduated a few years later with her Bachelor's Degree in Biology. For the past six years, she has been a homemaker, caring for her children. She recently began working for the Chippewa Cree Tribe as an environmental caretaker for Mother Earth.
Roses loved to hike and play with her sons, especially basketball. She liked to sweat, and will be remembered by her aunts and uncles, all of her brothers and sisters, and her extended family as embracing her traditional heritage and especially her ceremonies.
Roses was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her aunt, Cynthia Murie.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin Douglas Crebs and Teague Stump, both of Rocky Boy; her parents, Douglas and Jolene Crebs of Rocky Boy; her sisters, Grace Murie and Elaine (Fredrick) Coffee, all of Rocky Boy, Francie Crebs (Jacque Bigot) of Paris, France, and La Teaya Murie of Rocky Boy; her brothers, Joseph Shane (Lawanda) Saddler and Jeremy Saddler, all of Rocky Boy, Makaya Yates of Indiana, and Jarom (Jackie) Crebs of Havre; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends, including her uncles Patrick Ben Crebs, Darwin Zane Crebs and Kelly Crebs, all of Salt Lake City, Utah.
