The following cases were resolved in Hill County Justice Court by Judge Audrey Barger in April.
Carlton Sven Hogness, born in 1987, was fined $100 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, all days suspended for each of seven counts of issuing a bad check and was ordered to pay $198.76 restitution on the case. In a later case, Hogness was fined $250 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, all days suspended, for operating a vehicle without liability insurance, first offense.

Hadushka Anthony Howell, born in 1979, was fined $20 and forfeited $120 bond for speeding, 80 mph in a 70 mph zone. In a later case, Howell was fined $350 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, eight days suspended and two credited, for failing to carry proof of vehicle insurance, second offense, and was fined $600 and sentenced to 365 days in jail, 350 days suspended and 15 credited, for driving under the influence, second offense.

Christopher James Messerly, born in 1982, was fined $50 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 172 days suspended and eight credited, for driving while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked, and was fined $50 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 170 days suspended and 10 credited, for obstructing a peace officer or other public servant.

Jason Edward Keeling, born in 1974, was fined $250 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, all days suspended, for operating a vehicle without liability insurance, first offense.

Nadir Aaron Greytak, born in 1993, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 179 days suspended and one credited, for operating a vehicle with .08 percent blood alcohol concentration of greater, first offense, amended from aggravated DUI.

Travis Jay Marble, born in 1976, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 161 days suspended and 19 credited, for criminal possession of drug paraphernalia; was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 160 days suspended and 20 credited, for criminal possession of marijuana, second offense; was sentenced to 10 days in jail, all days suspended, for disorderly conduct; and was ordered to pay $381.55 restitution in the case.

In April, Judge Barger also dealt with 109 tickets resulting in fines of less than $100 or jail sentences of fewer than seven days, and she or the prosecution dismissed 11 charges. Barger transferred 14 citations to another court, issued 11 search warrants and held 19 probable cause hearings for cases out of her jurisdiction. Additionally, one suspended sentence or deferred imposition of sentencing was revoked and reinstated, two citations were voided by the ticketing agency and four probation and parole violations went before the judge.
