Rod run and bump'n'run bring iron to Havre

Saturday, dozens of classic and modern vehicles rolled onto the lot at the Great Northern Fairgrounds for people to inspect.

Modified, untouched and restored vehicles from many states and provinces lined up with hoods propped for automobile afficionados to be better able to ogle the inner workings.

In addition to the car show organized by the Hi-Line Cruz'n Association as part of its 29th Annual Rod Run, the Havre Jaycees held a bump'n'run race.

Chelby Gooch, the president of the Havre Jaycees, said the bump'n'run race was a success.

There were 11 competitors and roughly 100 spectators. Gooch said they're gearing up for the Great Northern Fair in Havre, where the Jaycees are organizing the bump'n'run race and demolition derby. The race will be held during the daytime Saturday of the fair and the derby that night, rather than last year's set up, which had them both together.

Gooch said drivers came from as far as Lewistown, Great Falls, Malta, Denton and Stockett.
