HHS hands out spring sports postseason awards

The spring sports season was another good one for Havre High School. And this past Monday, many HHS athletes who participated in the spring were honored at HHS’ annual spring sports banquet.

The Havre High softball team, which finished second in the Central A this season, and played in the 2015 Class A state tournament, announced that senior Paige Henderson and junior Dani Wagner were named co-MVPs for the 2015 season. Henderson was also named the team’s Offensive MVP, while Harlee Boucher was named the Ponies’ Defensive MVP. Boucher, a senior, played first base for the last four years for HHS. Senior Morgan Mazurkiewicz received the Schwan Award.

In boys tennis, junior Jeff Miller was named Most Outstanding Player for the third straight season. Miller finished second in Class A singles this spring, while the HHS boys captured a third-place trophy at the state tournament. Seniors Noah Landgraf, Wyatt Lindbloom and Jamie Lieberg were named MVPs, while Lieberg also earned the Most Inspirational Award. Sophomores Dustin Haas and Nate Korb were each named Most Improved Player, while George Ferguson earned Central A Boys Coach of the Year.

In girls tennis, Blue Pony senior Tatiana Ralph was named Most Outstanding Player, while juniors Meggan Smith and Alara Vogel were named Most Improved Player. Fellow junior Ashley Hofland was named Most Inspirational.

In boys track and field, junior Nate Rismon, who earned Class A All-State honors in the 400 meters this spring, was named MVP, while Gunnar Aageson earned the Coaches Award and freshman Ivar Aageson got the Newcomer Award.

In girls track and field, freshman standout Logan Huebsch earned the MVP, while Rachel David earned the Coaches Award and Jordan Keith won the Newcomer Award.
