From Fresno Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited
At the Annual Fresno Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited Kids Day, the Fresno Walleyes hosted 280 fifth- and sixth-graders from up and down the Hi-Line.
Some of the schools that participated were Sunnyside, Big Sandy, Box Elder, Rocky Boy and St. Judes. All participating kids visited five stations where they learned about water safety, fish identification, boat fishing electronics and correct fishing pole handling and, the favorite, they got a boat ride.
Many kids had never been in a boat, let alone out to Fresno.
Participants ended the day with a Rocky Mountain hot dog lunch and Schwan's ice cream sandwich. Every child who attended went home with a brand-new fishing pole.
The major sponsors of the kids day are BNSF Railway, NorthWestern Energy and Walmart.
