A decades-old independent living home in Havre is under new management, with a few changes in policy.
Bobbi Teasley, service coordinator at Havre’s Eagles Manor, said the facility will host an open Sunday, June 7, from 3-5 p.m.
“We invite you to join us for refreshments, door prizes, building tours and an opportunity to speak with staff and residents,” she said.
Teasley said Dee Miller is the new manager of the manor, and the management team is working to build a team approach to operating Eagles Manor, as well as a focus on resident satisfaction and “a strong desire to reconnect with the community.”
Teasley said Eagles Manor opened its doors in 1974 “and has been an integral part of the Havre community, serving seniors and disabled.”
The manor offers independent living with services available to simplify life, she said.
Those services include meals, light housekeeping, property maintenance, laundry facilities, weekly blood pressure clinic provided by Western Drug, monthly foot clinics provided by Montana Foot Care nurse, onsite beauty shop — A Cut Above, weekly Silver Sneakers exercise class, weekly games, activities, a service coordinator and socialization.
One new policy going into effect June 20 is making the entire building a nonsmoking facility.
Teasley thanked Town Pump for a $500 donation, as well as everyone else who donated in fundraisers, to help with the purchase of a “smoke shack” set up outside the building.
Teasley also thanked Stockman Bank for making a $500 donation to keep the Silver Sneakers class operating at a reduced rate, and to Physical Therapy Down Under for “sharing Tami Nystrom and her expertise.”
