Northern dean wins $75,000 from harassment case

Randy Bachmeier, a Montana State University-Northern dean, was awarded $75,000 in the Bachmeier v. MSU-Northern sexual harassment and retaliation case.

The Montana Human Rights Bureau ruled Wednesday in favor of Bachmeier in that MSU-Northern,as the employer of former provost Rosalyn Templeton, retaliated against him the day after he asked her to stop touching him.

MSU-Northern was also found to have retaliated against him when former Chancellor James Limbaugh told others that Bachmeier was not eligible for the new provost position.

The HRB judged in favor of MSU-Northern and against Bachmeier on the charges that MSU-Northern subjected him to illegal sexual harassment in his employment.
